Day 12 of 30 – Fertilize Your Future With Your Fears!

by Jun 21, 2019Blog, Daily Sunrise Hike

Let Your Fears Fertilize Your Future!

If we set a goal and we’re like, I’m so afraid of this. I think we should run at that fear. We should eat that fear. Let that fear process through our body, crap that fear out and let the fear be the fertilizer for our future.

Let your fears fertilize your future!

The Point Of A Goal Is Not To Get, It Is To Grow – Tony Robbins

A lot of times maybe we don’t set the goals that we really, really want is because we’re afraid of setting those goals for some reason. I think maybe it’s because we’re afraid of the effort that it’s going to take to make that goal happen because we have no idea how yet. We’re confused.

We like to operate out of clarity, but when we’re setting goals, we’re operating out of faith.

Goal setting requires faith and it requires belief. It also requires some discernment because we can set goals sometimes that aren’t good for us, and we can run really, really fast at those goals, narrow mindedly trying to achieve the goal that’s wrong for us.

Can you identify with that? I can.

So how do we set the right goals and how do we not be afraid of setting goals?

Those are the two questions I want to hit on today because what’s the point of a goal?

“The point of a goal is not to get, the point of a goal is to grow.” ~ Tony Robbins

How Much Are You Worth?

I think a lot of times a fear of setting goals can also be based on a low sense of self-worth. You have to value yourself for any significant goal to be worthwhile.

We’ve got to value ourself enough to commit to that goal every single day. Baby steps on that goal every single day will give us giant leaps over 90 days.

And if we can’t commit to ourselves, it may be because we don’t know how to value ourself yet.

You Were Created For A Purpose!

The precision of design from the macro to the micro is phenomenally beautiful.

If you look at everything from a sense of beauty, It doesn’t make sense in my logical mind how,

Anything like that could have been created out of nothingness.

So if you were created out of nothingness, then yeah, that’s, that’s a totally different story.

But if you weren’t created out of nothingness, if you were created by a creator, then, that changes the whole game.

You are worth it. Your value is priceless. I know sometimes we might feel worthless, but our value is not worthless. It’s priceless.

Once you realize your true value, it’s going to be hard to put a price on your services because you’re going to be worth so much and you now realize it. You’re like, Oh man, I’m worth a lot. It’s just trying to translate our value into money feels a little bit weak.

It feels weak to me because our value is much more than money. Money is a is a symbol.

Money is a measuring yardstick for how much value we can share with the world, but money is not the measure of a person’s worth.

Although if we don’t learn how to translate our services into money, we are going to stay broke.

Recalibration

Like a ship with a captain. We need to constantly recalibrate.

Think about a ship captain for a second. If there was just a ship in a harbor and we just turned on the engine and let it go without a captain, it probably wouldn’t even get out of the harbor. If put a captain in the ship, but they weren’t behind the wheel, it would do the same thing. If you put the captain behind the wheel and you give him a navigational system, he will definitely get out of the harbor. Now, if that captain is behind the wheel, but he doesn’t have a destination, he won’t go anywhere. He may get out of the harbor, but with no destination, he will go nowhere.

So all of that says we have to have a rudder. We have to be able to constantly direct ourselves. We have to be behind our own steering wheel and we have to have a destination. The destination is the goal.

Here’s the other point I want to make about ships and captains… Is the captain of the ship control the weather? No. Does the captain of the ship control the water? No. Does the captain of the ship control any natural disasters that are out there? Any big huge whales or fish or whatever. No.

The captain of the ship doesn’t control any of that. What does the captain of the ship control then?

The captain of the ship controls the recalibration.

And that’s what I want to encourage you all on today is recalibration. Just be ready to recalibrate.

If you have a goal or you don’t have a goal yet or you have a goal that you’ve got to quit on, recalibration is always the key.

An Epic Thought

You can reduce your goals, but you can also increase your effort if you’re not hitting your goals right now.

Oh Crap!

Crap can be looked at in a lot of different ways. You can look at crap as crap. You can look at crap as sewage, you can look at it as waste or you can look at it as fertilizer. I’ve got a garden, I’ve got a food forest. I use a lot of warm crap in my yard. I use a lot of duck crap all over the yard and it fertilizes everything. And so I just encourage you to eat your fears, process them through your body crap them out and let them fertilize your future.

So you guys know I love you. I know that probably sounds really weird. I hope you’re laughing right now. But it’s also true.

We can look at everything in one way or another and if you look at crap, as crap. Then It’s crap. But if you look at crap as fertilizer, then, it’s not crap anymore, It’s gold!

I love you so much! Until next time, develop awesome skills and go find your gold!

00:00Good morning everybody. It’s Day 12 of my 30 day hiking challenge with no coffee and feel really good. These mornings have been a little bit harder for me to get up cause I’ve been getting to bed a little bit lately. Lately not late in terms of any normal person but late like around eight 39 that’s late for me because I can’t really get up at three o’clock if I get to bed at nine anyways. I’ve been getting up around four lately. It’s been a pretty good time for me to get up. It gives me little bit of time before I have to leave the house. 60 the hike because this is pretty quick hike but I’m glad I gave myself a pretty quick but pretty intense hike in the morning because my body’s responding well. I’m not losing weight though. In fact I’m gaining a little bit of weight, but I think it’s because my legs are, I’m getting an intense leg workout, my glutes, my legs or blow it up cause I’m, I’m hiking up pretty intensely every morning so I think I’m putting on some muscle.

01:10So that’s pretty cool. But today I wanted to talk about fear and I know I’ve been talking about goal setting lie on my mom actually asked me a question yesterday about the fear of goal setting because I don’t know if many of you identify with this, but a lot of times maybe we don’t set big goals, the goals that we really, really want because we’re afraid of setting those goals. For some reason I think maybe it’s because we’re afraid of the effort that is going to take a lot of times to make that goal happen because we have no idea. We’re confused. We like to operate out of clarity, but when we’re setting goals, we’re operating out of faith. Goal setting requires faith and it requires belief. It requires that you, it also requires some discernment because we can set goals sometimes that aren’t good for us, and then we can like run really, really fast.

02:11Those goals, narrow mindedly like running so fast, trying to achieve the goal that’s wrong for us. Have you ever identified with that? I’ve done that. So how do, here’s the question, how do we set the right goals and how do we not be afraid of setting goals? Those are the two questions I want to hit on today because goals are, what’s the point of a goal? The point of a goal is not to get the point of a goal is to grow. I heard that from Tony Robbins. Also, the point of a goal is not to get the point of a goal is to grow, so maybe we’re, if we’re afraid of setting some goals. think sometimes in my past I’ve been afraid of setting goals because when I was kid, I was never afraid of setting any goals because there was no limits. But as got to be an adult, I started hearing from a lot of people, everybody that’s jaded. started hearing everybody telling me what I couldn’t do and I started believing some of it when I was a kid. Man, I let that propel me. You can’t do that. You can’t do that. And then I started as an adult, started believing some of that comes the sun. I started believing some of that and when you start believing the lies, that is really

03:35what makes it to where you won’t achieve any goals anymore. I think a lot of times a fear of setting goals can also underlying be based on a low sense of self worth. And the reason I mentioned that is because you have to, you have to value yourself for any significant goal to be worthwhile you end. And for setting goals, we got to value ourself enough to commit to that goal every single day. Baby steps on that goal every single day we’ll, we’ll give us giant leaps over 90 days. And if we can’tc ommit to ourselves, it may be because we don’t know how to value ourself yet.

04:24Yeah.

04:24Does that make sense? So I want you to understand a couple of foundational things. Even Identical twins have different fingerprints, therefore they have different destinies.

04:37I believe we were all created in the image of a creator and not as the reason that we create. There is a creator that created this whole experience that we’re living in, whether it was with the big bang 13.7 billion years ago or 6,000 years ago with some of these other people that are saying that I, you know, it, it, we don’t know. That’s the one thing we don’t know how old the earth is. Like there’s certain archeologyarcheological findings that are, that are figuring things out, but ultimately creator or something magnificent created this entire experience. The precision of design from the macro to the micro is phenomenally beautiful. If you look at everything from a sense of beauty, they’re there. It can’t make sense. It doesn’t make sense in my logical mind how,

05:29wow.

05:29Anything like that could have been created out of nothingness. So if you were created out of nothingness, then yeah, that’s, that’s a totally different story. But if you weren’t created out of nothingness, if you were created by a creator, uh, it changes the whole game. You are worth it. Your value is priceless. I know sometimes we might feel worthless, but our value is not worthless. It’s priceless. We can’t put price on you. Once you realize your true value, it’s going to be hard to put a price on your services because you’re going to be worth so much and you realize it.You’re like, Oh man, I’m worth a lot. It’s just trying to translate that into our value into money does feel a little bit weak. It feels weak to me because our value is much more than money. Money is a is a symbol.

06:21Money is a measuring yardstick for how much value we can share with the world, but money is not the measure of a person’s worth. Although if we don’t learn how to translate our services into money, we are going to stay broke. Does that make sense to, so money is a necessary part of life and a lot of times goals can be money. Now, I know we say set huge goals, but when you set huge goals, that’s when the fear kicks in and mom, I hope you can identify with that because that is the whole thing and reason that people don’t set huge goals because hey, if I set huge goal, I might get disappointed if I don’t get it. I mean, sure, maybe you might get disappointed, but just appointments part of life, right?

07:15My thought is, and I’ve heard this from, I don’t even know who shoot for the moon. It might actually hit some stars. Even if you don’t hit the moon, and if you go with that approach, give everything excellence, choose an excellent goal, something that you just really desire because you have to have desire, ultimate desire behind your want. If you want something really, really bad or you just really want it, and then you set your time based date and then you build backwards your steps, it’s going to take to get there. Another point I want to mention is once sick, say you build your whole treasure map, you find your goal, your you face, your fear, you find your goal and you run at your goal daily and you’re making your goal happen. Now I want to, I want to touch on something else to 80% of the way through achieving your goal, you’re going to find a wall, you’re going to find big wall and it’s going to be a wall where you’re, you’re going to be hitting up confusion wall because you built this huge treasure map awhile ago you built full map and now that the map is built and you’re executing your plan, not everything is going according to plan, but that’s okay.

08:34Like a ship with a captain. We need to constantly recalibrate.

08:41Think about a ship captain for a second. If there was just a ship on the in a harbor and we just turned on the engine and just let it go without a captain, it probably wouldn’t even get out of the harbor if put a captain in the ship, but they weren’t behind the wheel, it would do the same thing. If you put the captain behind the wheel and you give him a navigational system, he will definitely get out of the harbor. Now, if that captain is behind the wheel, but he doesn’t have a destination, he won’t go anywhere, will get out of the harbor, just go wherever he goes, but no destination. So all of that says we have to have a rudder. We have to be able to constantly direct ourselves. We have to be behind our own steering wheel and we have to have a destination.

09:26The destination is the goal. Here’s the other point I want to make about ships and captains is does the captain of the ship control the weather? No. Does the captain of the ship control that water? No. Does the captain of the ship control any natural disasters that are out there? Any big huge whales or fish or whatever. No captain of the ship doesn’t control any of that. What does the captain, the ship control, the captain of the ship controlled the recalibration and that’s what I want to encourage you all on today is recalibration. Just be ready to recalibrate. If you have a goal or you don’t have a goal yet or you have a goal that you’ve got to quit on, recalibration is always the key and that’s what I mentioned at the beginning of this video. Discernment. He got to have discernment. Discernment comes from asking for Wisdom, from finding mentors, from asking people that you trust.

10:23Let him go. Let him in on what you’re doing and and hear what they have to say about it.Don’t let us stop you cause a lot of times sometimes mentors could even stop you from achieving your goals. When you say, I want this goal, and then they’re like, oh, I don’t know. Okay, that’s, that’s a tough one. Why don’t we just start with something smaller? Anytime you reduce your goals because other people tell you to reduce your goals, you can, you can tell they reduce your goals, but you could also increase your effort

10:53Does that make sense? You can reduce your goals, but you can also increase your effort if you’re not hitting your goals right now. And maybe you’re jaded because over the last 12 years you’ve, you set a whole bunch of goals and you’ve only gotten couple of them. And maybe now you’re jaded because you’re like, I can’t ever have that. I tried, I tried before. And here’s another thing I want to, because you didn’t try hard enough or you didn’t try right enough. The correct method to make it happen. So there’s, there’s ways to make things happen. There’s the end and you just, a lot of it’s elbow grease. A lot of it is faith and belief that you can do it. If you don’t believe you can do it. And if you don’t have faith that it can happen, it’s not gonna happen. So right now you have to force the belief if you don’t believe it yet because the beliefs sometimes that are already in your paradigm are lies.Sometimes we’re believing lies, especially if they’re telling us that we’re not worth it or that we can’t do it. Those are lies. I don’t want you to eliminate those lies. Eliminate, get rid of those lines cause those lies are lies. They are not beneficial to survival and growth and I want to talk so, so, okay. The fear of setting goals is

12:15real

12:17and if you’ve experienced it, I want to encourage you, don’t start with these massive goals if that’s scary for you. Although I would say face your fears. I would say face your fears and what not. When I say face your fears, I actually have a metaphor. I’m going to throw it out there for you, but it’s kind of weird. I think we should run after RF now. There’s two kinds of fears. There’s good fears and there’s bad fears. The good fears are like, ah, you know, don’t walk across the street when the traffic is there, you’ll make sure you’re afraid of traffic. And look both ways, that kind of stuff. But the bad fears of the fears that hold us back, the limiting fears, what I suggest that we do with those fears, false expectations appearing real, false expectations appearing real, false expectations appearing, real fear, false expectations, appearing real. Think about that. So,

13:12I think, we should eat our fears, we should find the things that we’re afraid of it within our goals. So we set a goal and we’re like, I’m so afraid of this. I think we should run out that fear. We should eat that fear. Let that fear process through our body, crap that fear out and let the fear be the fertilizer for our future. So let’s your fears fertilize your future. Does that make sense? I hope that makes sense because

13:39when you look at crap, crap can be looked at in a lot of different ways. You can look at crap as crap. You can look at crap as sewage, you can look at it as waste or you can look at it as fertilizer. I’ve got a garden, I’ve got a food forest. Now there is a, um,I use a lot of warm crap in my yard. I use a lot of, uh, my ducks crap all over the yard and it fertilizes everything. And so I just put it, encourage you to eat your fears, process them through your body crap mount and let them fertilize your future. So you guys know I love you. I’m saying this. I know that probably sounds really weird. I hope you’re laughing right now. Um, but it’s also true. It’s also true. You know, we can look at everything in one way or another and if you look at crap, it’s crap. It’s crap. But if you look at crap as fertilizer, hey, it’s not crap. It’s gold.

14:36Okay everybody, I love you so much. You’re awesome. I hope you’re getting some value out of this episode and I hope you’re able to set some goals and eliminate your fears because you’re worth it. So we talked about some pretty foundational things today. I hope you got some value out of episode if you did. If you find anybody, if you know of anybody who’s afraid of achieving their goals, but you know they have greatness within them, feel free to share this with at least three people who need to hear this message. So I hope we can have a great day. Hope you get to make it a great week. Is it? It’s Friday. So great week end and it’s day 12. My high grade now, I can’t believe it’s day 12 already. Um, my body is getting a little bit tired, but it’s not a bad tired.

15:19I’m just, I just got to push through these walls. You know, it’s Day 12. I’m not quite halfway through three more days, so I’m halfway through. I’m not even taking a break. I’m not taking a daily break. It’s a every single day. I’m doing this and I hope you guys check out my blog too. So check out blog dot [inaudible] dot com and if you haven’t, put your email in there and put your name and email in there, then go ahead and do that. Right now, I’m developing this one page life mastery guide.I haven’t fully finished yet because I’m still working on the blog, but I will get it soon. So if you put your name and email in there, I’m going to be getting that out to you as soon as I possibly can. It’ll probably be next week, but I’m really working on this one page life mastery guide.

16:01I want to make sure it’s dialed in before I get it out to you guys, but it’s going to really help. It’s just something simple. A one page you could look at and you can say, Hey, this is where I’m going to go. This is my whole life on one page. And it’s meant to be redone. It’s meant to be recalibrated. It’s meant to be redone. So as your life changes, you need to do this. And I would suggest doing it twice a year. Your life mastery guide. Do it twice a year, once in the beginning of the year. And once right now, mid year resolutions, cause it’s time to achieve your goals because you can. So don’t be afraid of your goals because your goals were implanted in your brain by higher power and they’re worth it. You’re worth it. You, your goals are meaningful and I know you can achieve them.

16:54And I know you know you can achieve them to somewhere way down in here. But some of these goals that we’re setting that are huge, they’re a little scary to go after. mean, what? I set a goal to have a film studio when I was young, a kid and wanted to be an actor, but I became an actor. The actor wasn’t the point. The point was I had things I wanted to say and I want it to say those in the form of movies. I didn’t realize that I could be saying that I’m in the form of a youtube, but now that I do realize that I’m doing it and I hope you guys are enjoying it. SoI hope you find your gold soon. And if you need help finding your gold, let me know. Shoot me an email and or comment below on this video or comment on my blog. Check out my blog. There’s some shareable memes that you can grab on my blog, and you can share them all over and they will, uh, come back to this video on my blog. So Ob guys are great. We have an amazing day. And until next time, my name’s David A. Stone, develop out some skills and go find the gold.

It’s not enough to just turn the switch off and that’s what I didn’t really understand at the time. I didn’t understand that full part of it. And, the other thing is when you choose to uninstall what you don’t like.
When you ask yourself, do I need to become aware of all these hidden blind spots and hidden weaknesses and fears that I don’t even know that I have.
The problem is the more you ask that question, the more they become revealed and when they become revealed it feels like a bandaid ripping off.
And that is okay though. It’s good.

So here’s the big question then. How do we change that programming?
How do we change the paradigm that has been pre-installed before you can even remember?
Some of these bad habits, these anger habits… Okay, so here’s another quick story.
When I was a kid, I had some anger issues and I had some anger issues because I was around some people who were angry as adults and those habits kind of just got installed in me.
But you don’t expect anger. Anger happens quick. It happens in a moment. It’s a powerful emotion.
But when I got that program installed a child, I went to anger management because it was ruining some relationships when I was a kid. I would pop off at the wrong time, in the middle of a parking lot, about something stupid. So my mom made me go to anger management.

When I was a kid, all of the experiences that I had. Yeah, they were crazy.
They were totally crazy, but they were good crazy.
I mean, do we want everything to be perfect?
Yeah. I know. I want to create, when I have kids, I want to create a great experience and environment for them, but am I going to like lock them away in a little room and not let them risk anything? Is that what we’re supposed to do? Well, here’s an interesting statistic.
More than 85% of the daily actions that we take as an adult, the habitual actions that make up our paradigm, were installed prior to us being five years old.
